I did some dyeing over the weekend. I loved the marks that were left on my fingers after I finished. In the green one I see a tree, maybe a willow tree and a figure standing next to it. The blue one looks like a little sailboat to me. Do you see it?

Scary Goggle
Over Spring break I have been looking for and applying to local internships. I need a summer internship in order to graduate in the fall. So while I was sending my cover letter and resume out to a local art initiative I seen the ad. So not only does Google track everything that you do they also hear your conversations and know your life plans. I plan on moving to south Florida after I graduate (probably a year later). This is crazy I feel like they are tracking my ever move, whether I am online or not.
Response from “The Man”
In my last post, Self Deprivation I talked about my week without OPI. Another part of the assignment was to post the review to the company or on a related site. I sent my review to OPI and posted it on some nail site (I don’t remember). About a week later I got an email from a secretary to OPI executives (I don’t want to name names, really this is blog is about me J). The email asked for my home address, weridlyawesome I thought. In response I gave them my email and asked what I should be expecting and she said a gift. A week later I received that beautiful package. I was so surprised and touched. OPI really is my favorite nail polish brand and this has really cemented me as a loyal customer that they will have forever. I never expected to get such a generous response. The card that I got read “ Sorry about your experience with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri amongst everything thing that I said, they mentioned that?
Weird
I hopped on the Internet and come to find out COTY owns both OPI and Sally Hansen. So that’s why.

Self-deprivation
February 8th, 2012 I started my week without any OPI products. I painted nails on my left hand with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri 08 Lightening and my right hand with Maybelline New York Express Finish Pretty in purple. I immediately resented my decision when the polish didn’t go on evenly (due to the brush and polish not my skills) .I knew I would have to do three coasts of polish, to get the color right and not “lumpy”. “Lumpy” is a term I use to describe when you can see the nail beneath the color and the coat isn’t even. Opposed to the two coats that I usually do with OPI. I also knew it would take forever to dry despite there names. The next day (Wednesday) less than 24 hours later my left thumb and right middle finger where already chipped. On Thursday all the nails on my right hand were chipped. I really just wanted to take the polish off and just lie but I fought my urges and continued on. On Friday could peel the Sally Hansen nail polish off of my nails. Also, this may or may not have to do with the product but my left pinky nail broke. Needless to say I was very upset and was becoming very self aware and tired to hide my hands in anyway possible. That Saturday I was supposed to go out but I didn’t feel well and my nails were ugly so there was no way I going to force myself to go out. On Sunday I filled my nails to keep them even and in effort to take my mind away from how chipped there were. On Monday, I couldn’t wait until Tuesday to take the nail polish off. I was also thinking of designs and colors to do with my nails using OPI products. I found myself looking at people’s nails more. I didn’t wait to the exact time that I did my nails to take my polish off I did as soon as I woke up on Tuesday. I’ve always been complimented on my nails with or without polish. Polishing my nails makes me happy; it’s an instant gratification. It’s also a form of expression for me. I do use and own many other types of nail polish but they don’t last as long as OPI does. I found that OPI doesn’t chip (with or with out top coat) the polish slowly recedes. I can have my nails with OPI polish for a week to two weeks without doing them over or feeling self conscious about them. I don’t really know how to convey it to others without sounding extreme. However, it’s like going without your scarf that you know is going to keep you warm. OPI products are dependable and long lasting. The colors are impeccable and vibrant, just like me. The names of the polish are unique and humorous just like me. To me OPI means the freedom of self-expression through my nails and it makes me feel fabulous.
